Jeremiah 2:27-28 (NIV) They have turned their backs to me
and not their faces;
yet when they are in trouble, they say,
‘Come and save us!’
28 Where then are the gods you made for yourselves?
Let them come if they can save you
when you are in trouble!
For you, Judah, have as many gods
as you have towns.
As the darkness settles
And the thundering looms
When the sound of voices
Overwhelms with doom
As reports have abandoned
Any form of help
Only anxious forebodings
Have overcome the self
Through this time there’s a way
Another side, another day
For those who have set their hearts
To turned away
To set their faces on the Source of Faith
It’s only to what’s seen
That steps can lead
Only that path
Where the eyes have been
For the one who’s been receiving
The choice of moments given
From whom the heart’s consuming
Most often has partaken
Will own the peril’s moments
With life or death’s promise
May the face be always turned alone
To His
